Comfort Bag Application Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Naja Comfort Bags handles the information submitted through the Sickle Cell Patient Comfort Bag Application.

Information We Collect

We collect the information you voluntarily enter in the comfort bag application: your name, email address, phone number, preferred contact method, date of birth, city, state, ZIP code, the general sickle cell diagnosis category you select, the public links and platform you provide, your brief explanation, parent or guardian details when applicable, how you heard about us, an optional note about why a comfort bag would be meaningful, your agreements, and your electronic signature.

We do not request or require medical records, laboratory results, prescriptions, insurance information, medical-record numbers, or Social Security numbers.

Why We Collect It

Your information is used only to review eligibility, administer the waitlist, communicate with you about your application, and coordinate the distribution of comfort bags.

How Public Social-Media and Community Links Are Reviewed

Our team opens only the public links you voluntarily submit and reads publicly available content to understand your connection to the sickle cell community. We never request passwords and never ask for access to a private account.

Social-media and community review is only an eligibility-screening method. It does not independently confirm or medically verify a sickle cell diagnosis.

Who May Access Applications

Only authorized Naja Comfort Bags administrators may view complete application records. Applicants cannot view or browse applications submitted by other people. Administrator access and status changes are recorded in an internal audit log.

How Information Is Protected

Applications are stored in a secured database with row-level security. Data is encrypted in transit. Submissions are processed by a validated server-side function, and text entries are sanitized to protect against script injection. Application details are never sent to advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, or session-replay tools.

How Long We Keep Applications

Applications are retained only as long as needed to administer the waitlist, under a configurable retention period maintained by our administrators. Applications may be closed and soft-deleted once they are no longer needed.

Correction and Deletion Requests

You may ask us to correct or delete your application at any time by contacting us at scdcomfortbags@gmail.com or (702) 608-7519. Include your application number if you have it.

We Never Ask for Passwords

Naja Comfort Bags will never ask for a social-media password or for permission to access a private account. Please do not send passwords to us.

Please Do Not Submit Medical Records

You are not required to publicly disclose medical records or detailed private health information to apply, and the application has no medical-record upload field.

We Do Not Sell Your Information

Applicant information is never sold, rented, or traded.

No Guarantee of a Comfort Bag

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, placement on the waitlist, or receipt of a comfort bag. Distribution depends on eligibility, inventory, funding, sponsorships, location, and waitlist order.
